I wanted to share a quick update on what’s been going on.
About four weeks ago, I started having some balance issues along with pretty intense nausea. I already had an MRI scheduled, and when the results came back, they showed that I have additional tumors in my brain. The most concerning is one in the cerebellum and another in the left frontal cortex.
From what I understand, the one in the frontal area could affect my memory, especially short-term memory, which has already been a bit of a challenge for me.
Today, I’m starting radiation. The plan right now is four sessions, spread out over the next couple of weeks (about two per week). That’s what I know so far, and I’ll keep learning more as I go.
I’ve also been taking a break from my medications for about six weeks (Dr. approved), and interestingly, I actually feel really, really good overall, despite everything going on with the brain tumors.
I’m currently taking a steroid to help with my balance, and it’s made a big difference, which I’m really grateful for. It does come with some side effects like a puffy face and increased hunger, personality changes, but for now it’s helping me stay steady and live as normal as possible.
I’m starting to look for holistic therapies to enhance my healing. Any suggestions are welcomed. There are obvious free things I do like breath work, sitting in nature, journaling, but I do hope to add IV therapy, bodywork, etc. When my balance is better I think hiking will be the best free thing I can do.
I’m taking this one step at a time and doing my best to stay grounded through it all.
Thank you for your love, support, and continued prayers. It truly means so much to me.
